In 2000 Mike began to write occasional features for
the German web-based magazine UFO +PSI
RESEARCH.
For a number of years the
company who owned
The Shields Gazette had
produced a local history
magazine called Banks O’
The Tyne.
The magazine was edited
by Janis Blower, writer of
the paper’s long-running
Cookson Country column.
His first feature was a grim
recounting of the story of
Ann Little - Britain’s most
notorious cat-killer who
cut up hundreds of pet
cats and sold their flesh for
meat in the 19th century.
In 2001 Mike was asked to guest on the Granada
Breeze channel’s hit daily show Psychic
Livetime alongside Derek Acorah and the show’s
two presenters, Becky and Carl.
Sadly, Granada Breeze folded and, along with it,
Psychic Livetime.
Although Mike was beginning to write for more
influential journals and magazines, he still
maintained a commitment to small newsletters and
publications. Then, as now, he penned features,
columns and articles free of charge for
publications that he felt provided a public service.
In 1991 he penned a number of articles for
North East Network on themes such as paranormal
investigation and Native American spirituality.
In 2001 Mike collaborated with filmmaker Gary
Wilkinson to produce Marsden Grotto - Anatomy
of a Haunting, the true story behind Britain’s most
haunted public house.
Mike scripted the film, which was narrated by journalist
Helen Charlton.
In 2002, Mike and his colleague Anna
Kaye were the subject of a documentary
called Twilight Worlds made by the
Teeside University Media Unit.
The film highlighted their appearance
on Century Radio and their involvement
With the Twilight Worlds Paranormal
Research Society which Mike founded
in the year 2000.
In 2002, Mike produced the first edition of the volunteering
and community work magazine, FULL OF IT.
The paper was distributed to all voluntary organisations
throughout the Borough of South Tyneside and to
many Local Authority departments.
Each issue contained an in-depth interview with a voluntary
or not-for-profit sector worker who was contributing to the
health and happiness of local citizens, news features
and other articles.
In 2002. Mike penned a number of articles
for Animals & Men, a publication of the
Centre for Fortean Zoology.
One featured the (then) infamous “Cleadon
Panther” which was said to be stalking the
residents of a sedate village in the heart of
South Tyneside.
In 2002, Mike took part in the documentary series The Ghost Detectives,
presented by Tom Baker.
The series was shown on the UK Horizons channel and well received.
Mike was mainly involved in the episode dealing with the haunting of the
Marsden Grotto, and acted as a consultant to the producers due to his
expertise on Grotto history.

In 2003 Mike, some colleagues
and a team from the Centre
for Fortean Zoology
investigated a series of
sightings of a mysterious
creature dubbed The Beast of
Bolam Lake.
TV, radio, books, newspaper
articles and a movie were the result...
In 2004 Mike began to write articles for WYRD magazine, published by the Centre for Fortean
Zoology.
In 2004, Mike and his colleague Anna Kaye were asked to
Guest on the Mike Elliot Show. Mike and Anna appeared on
the show regularly on a Friday evening to talk about all forms
of psychic phenomena during live phone-in debates with
viewers.
“Spooky Friday”, as it became known, continued until
Mike’s relationship with Magic FM ended and he moved on
to another radio station.

In 2004 Mike and Anna were commissioned by VISION
magazine to write a new column called The Destiny
Doctors.
The column was a problem page with a difference.
The columnists would dish out advice to readers like
most agony aunts and uncles, but with a psychic
twist.
Mike wrote for VISION magazine from its inception, and
since Its launch has had at least one column and one
feature in every issue.
Anna eventually left VISION
and was replaced by Dave
Brennan, who also
continued to give advice
to readers in his own, unique
style.
As part of a launch promotion, VISION
Produced a music CD which was
given away on the front cover.
The CD featured numerous artists, and
Mike was asked to contribute some Native
American chants because of his Indian
heritage.
The album was produced for VISION by
Paradise Music, and was a huge success.
WALK WITH VISION had been Mike’s first
opening into the music world, but it was not to
Be his last.
Working with Mike Trewhella from Insight
Digital, Mike recorded the lyrics for a second
album called Summoning the Spirit.
With accompanying music from Will Pimlett and
Chris Conway, thealbum was also produced by
Paradise Music.
