WraithScape interviews
one of the USA’s
leading Bigfoot hunters...

Cliff Crook is looking for the Sasquatch; a man-like creature which is said to
roam around the remoter parts of North America, and he won’t be happy till he
finds him. Or it.

Cliff is one of the world’s leading experts on Bigfoot, although his controversial
views have earned him a good few critics and detractors.

Cliff kindly granted Mike an exclusive interview for WraithScape, and he asked him
how he got into this rather unorthodox business.

"Well, in the 1940's there were rumours of a "Woods Giant" prowling the
backwoods of Western Washington State. Neighbourhood dogs went missing,
and some were found dead - bloodless kills, as if they’d been picked up and
hurled to the ground.

"We also heard eerie, unidentified howls, and big footprints appeared in nearby
fields. I was young, and placed these strange incidents in the back of my mind.

"Then, one summer’s night in 1956, I was camped at the edge of a swamp with
three boys and a dog. It was an isolated patch of woods. The campfire was
burning down and suddenly the dog began to growl.

"The underbrush was thick and too high for us to look over. We soon heard the
sound of heavy steps sloshing through the swamp, slowly heading our way.
The dog jumped into the brush.

"There was much growling from both dog and beast, and suddenly the dog came
flying backwards over the high underbrush. He landed very hard with a thud near
the campfire. Then we saw a hair-covered creature rise up, turn its body, and
then crouch down behind the brush.

"It had a slate-grey face…not a bear or a man. This sparked my curiosity enough
for me to set my first boot-step on the trail of a creature known as Bigfoot. It had
enough spark behind it to keep me on the trail to this day".

Mike asked Cliff about the history of the organisation he runs.

"It was founded as the Bigfoot Reports Center and Data base Organisation for
North America in 1980. In1991, Bigfoot Central became a Foundation, and is the
first and only Bigfoot organisation of official status".

Mike questioned Cliff about the controversial film shot by Roger Patterson and
Bob Gimlin in 1967, at Bluff Creek in the USA. Most Gazette readers will have seen
the legendary footage, which shows what appears to be a camera-shy Bigfoot
stomping into the trees after giving the two cowboys a brief, backward glance.

"My full view of the Patterson film clip is that it was hoaxed and was a man in a
fur suit. The negative side of the Patterson case is covered up by the film clip's
protectors. If you breathe one negative word about that film, 20 protectors will try
to destroy your credibility in any way they can. My full investigation of the film
clearly points to it being the Bigfoot hoax of the century. A fake is a fake, and
suppressing the facts won’t alter that".

So how long did he think it would be before incontrovertible proof was gained?

"Ultimate proof may never surface. Scientific evidence of God or the wind cannot
be ultimately proven either, yet we know God and the wind exist. If full proof
arrives, I hope it is never established by senseless slaughter.

" We have strong evidence for Bigfoot and we should soon be a lot closer
to gaining even more".

Mike pointed out to Crook that South Tyneside is far removed geographically and
culturally from Bigfoot country. Nevertheless, people in the UK would love to
see the creature’s existence established. What could WraithScape readers from
this side of the Atlantic do to help?

"Just continue to give me their wonderful encouragement. That is all the
support I need".
